Individual Therapy

Support for Personal Healing & Connection

With structures of safety and support,
you can voice your needs out loud.

Let me know if any of this sounds familiar:

The more time and energy you spend supporting others and (in theory) trying to care for yourself, the more unsupported and disconnected you feel.

Even when you do the most, somehow there is always something more that you are expected to fix, handle, or manage. You find that your desires and what others expect from you are often in conflict. At times, you feel taken advantage of because the care you give isn’t reciprocated, which in turn leaves you feeling burnt out, confused, and mistrusting of your natural instincts. So you either let people in even more to try to feel connected, or try to implement boundaries only to be left with a massive sense of guilt.

If you can relate, you’re in good company with empathetic high-achievers everywhere — and you deserve to receive back the level of care that you give.

The irony is that struggling to create a secure, connected life can sometimes do the opposite.

We might operate based on assumptions of what everyone needs, but if we’re not taking the time to pause to ask if it’s true, we may be missing the opportunities we need most to tend to our relationships and our resources. The tendency to pour all of our energy into making it all work out can create a vacuum where our own needs go unnoticed and unfulfilled for far too long, and we’re assuming what others want.

But another reality is possible.

We just need to allow ourselves the space to feel and understand what we need and how to get there.

Therapy can open space for you to:

  • Identify and re-write the stories from your past that are directing how you act in the present moment, and see how you can shift them to work toward a future that is fulfilling for you

  • Examine and rewire the patterns that influence your behaviors with yourself, how you approach the world around you, and how you offer care for others

  • Step back for a full-picture view to see both what is yours to be accountable for and the ways your circumstances are related to greater systemic realities — not personal shortcomings

  • Intentionally take steps to build a life that feels rich from a place of values-aligned action and enoughness — both having enough to meet your needs and feeling like you are enough

All of you is welcome here — we need it for this work.

Your background, identities, and histories are important because they are what make you you.

I will never take that lightly, but they serve a purpose for us too. When we know about you, we know the stories you tell yourself about your life and which ones it might be time to change. What you share will be witnessed, acknowledged, and wholly validated. That is true for everyone, but especially if you come from a multicultural background or have marginalized identities.

Modalities for support

Every session is shaped based on your needs that day, but there are some core specialties that are often present.

As well as using a systemic and intersectional lens, my approach incorporates attachment theory, as well as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, which allows us to give voice to how you show up and receive as an individual in your relationships.
