EMDR helps our brain to reprocess past, recent, and present experiences that continue to cause distress. By connecting our emotions to our bodies and reprocessing distressful events through bilateral stimulation our brain resumes a healing process allowing feelings of calm, neutrality or peace. Some common mental health concerns treated with EMDR are trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief.

*EMDR is used when appropriate with clinical discretion. I am happy to talk with you about this modality if appropriate.

50-60 minute session - $150

90 Minute session - $200

Our stories are like puzzles – challenging and complex; when we first pull them out of the box, we feel excited and ready to take on the challenge! However, when we see all the little annoying pieces, we become overwhelmed and frustrated, and may just want to give up. Because hey, it feels easier to just stuff it back in the box, shove it in a closet and forget about it. But instead, when we slow down, we become a little bit more curious. If we take a deep breath, maybe make a nice cup of coffee (or tea if you prefer) and look closer the puzzle slowly (but surely) starts to make sense.

Therapy can feel similar.

Our independent, autonomous, eager self craves change and comes in motivated, ready to do the work. We’re feeling determined to improve and find balance. But then we find ourselves frustrated when we have to slow down and be patient. After all, who has time for that? We live in a fast-paced world and need things to happen right now, this instant, or preferably yesterday.

Although we find patterns and similarities amongst them, each piece of the puzzle is both unique and essential. Together we can learn to nurture relationships while maintaining independence. We will create insight and awareness into the patterns that contributed to feeling overwhelmed, stuck and frustrated, and learn ways to build healthy, balanced, and sustainable cycles. By first understanding that it is okay to have emotional needs, it then becomes possible to express them. Examining these moments of frustration will allow us to not only understand emotions but validate and resolve them as well.

I’m interested in knowing your authentic self and helping your authentic self to shine. My services are inviting to humans of every culture, gender, and sexual orientation. I am also kink friendly.
